Bangladesh Institute of Management (BIM) a pioneer government Management training institute with the technical help of Deutsche Gesellschaft Für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) which is a German consulting service provider to industrialised countries, jointly started aprogramme named Diploma in Social Compliance (DSC) in 2008 to develop the capacity of Textile & Garments Manufacturing industries’ Social Compliance Professionals.

 

Diploma in Social Compliance is a six month programme where the interested professional can gain theoretical and practical knowledge by following course outline:

 

Part I: Theory

  • Human Resource Management and Organizational Behaviour.
  • Social Compliance and International Standard.
  • Labor laws and Industrial Relation.
  • Industrial Health, Safety & Welfare.
  • Social Audit & SA8000.

Part II: Internship

  • Initial Factory Audit.
  • Audit Report.

Though the diploma course designed for officer, executive, manager of Textile or Garments Industry, but now a day it has been seen that officers, executives and manager from different sectors even form media & communication doing this course.


The course aims to equip participants with knowledgeand skills needed to:

  • Identify and solve compliance related problems in the workplace.
  • Conduct factory audits and write audit reports.
  • Build expertise in relevant area.
  • Build career of Social Compliance HR/Admin Manager for Garments and other export oriented Industries.

From the year 2008 to 2015 BIM is continuously offering the course. On March 21, 2015 BIM has provided certificates to 93 participants of DSC programme of batch VIIand Batch VIII.

 

A DSC completed professional has a good career patha as Social Compliance Professional in different stages in Textile & Garments sectors.
